African Impact run a range of academic African summer courses. These Courses are ideal if you want an academic summer course with hands on experience and expose to the subjects in an African context.
Gain practical experience in a range of disciplines, which are applicable across multiple academic and professional fields, including Non-profit studies, NGO sector, Intercultural Learning, Women studies, Gender Studies, Sexuality studies, Politics, History, Literature, Language and Business.
Courses are structured like seminars, meeting intensively for four weeks and including various discussions, guest lectures, and presentations, encompassing a combination of structured service, reflections and specialized workshops. Each course includes 80 hours of service, 32 hours of course work and 8 hours of reflection. Additional time each week is reserved for student volunteer projects and program activities or excursions.
Our Summer Course destinations have been individually chosen for their characteristic contrast and ability to add a depth of context to course materials and research outputs.
The African Impact team can assist you in gaining academic credit for research papers, reflection papers and journal entries. Speak to your supervisor prior to joining to course to discuss credits.
